- Location: Home-based role, with some trips to London. Candidate commute time not to exceed 1 hour 45 minutes to the Southwark borough of London, each way.
- Salary: £22,381 pro-rata
- Hours: 60 hours per month, averaging 2 days a week. At pinch points some weeks might require 3-4 days. Schedule to be agreed with candidate but one day must be Tuesdays
- Contract: 8 months, with potential to extend

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with great attention to detail to support our evaluation and impact work. As our Evaluation & Project Outcomes Assistant, you will help deliver our exciting new Evaluation plan that explores family experiences on the Rose Vouchers Project, piloting in the Southwark borough of London. This project is led by our Impact and Evaluation Manager as part of a £1.1m award from Impact on Urban Health which seeks to fund innovative and effective projects that tackle urgent issues of public and urban health, such as childhood obesity and multiple long-term conditions.
The position holder will be responsible for assisting with:
1) Interviewing families and keeping records of responses: the position holder will conduct 150 open-ended interviews and surveys with families; keep accurate records of family responses and be responsible for storing them on the ARC team site. This may involve supporting families to complete evaluations on location at voucher distribution points, Children’s Centres, on occasion. This will be in Southwark, London.
2) Supporting our partners, Children’s Centres: the position holder will be a point of contact and liaison with partners on evaluations and updates.
3) Feeding into documents and presentations: the position holder may be required to assist in the training of Children’s Centre staff and the production of outputs, such as reports or presentations.
The successful candidate will be passionate about improving the food landscape in areas with high deprivation, with an emphasis on understanding barriers and benefits for families with children under the age of five. The candidate will also need to be committed to working sensitively and demonstrate flexibility and cultural sensitivity when communicating with families with low confidence in their English language skills. They will also need to implement good research ethics as outlined by the Impact and Evaluation Manager. Travel into and across London will be required for the role on occasion (subject to mutual agreement).
This is a great opportunity to gain experience and skills in a hands-on role in research and the third sector.
