Celia has spent the last 14 years in food retail, working on sustainable supply chains. She is currently Head of Environmental Sustainability at Sainsbury’s, where she is responsible for the Company’s nature agenda with a particular focus on salient environmental impacts within the supply chain, including carbon emissions, water stewardship, food waste and biodiversity loss.
During her career, Celia has spent time exploring sustainability from various perspectives and geographies, including spending a year supporting suppliers on the ground in Latin America & the Caribbean, as well as running a number of supermarkets in Greater London. Prior to joining Sainsbury’s, Celia undertook an MA in Leadership for Sustainable Development run by Global NGO, Forum for the Future, as well as spending a year in a consultancy focused on sustainability in the public realm. Celia lives in London with her husband and two small children.
