We are always inspired by the dedication and shared values of our charity’s supporters, who enable us to help so many people through our projects. It is people like Sara, who make all the difference, taking on personal challenges to raise both money and awareness of our cause. This is Sara’s story.
This year, to mark the milestone of her 50th birthday, Sara decided she wanted to do something different and give something back to the community. As a long-term supporter of our charity, we are so grateful she chose to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on our behalf and raise funds for our work.
This challenge is no small feat. It involves scaling the highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales —Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough —within 12 hours. With the support of her husband and son, who joined her in this challenge, they climbed over 2,000 metres and raised an incredible £869!
For Sara, the challenge was a perfect way to mark her 50th year while also making a significant impact on the lives of families facing food poverty.
The money raised by Sara and her family will be used to help families in need, buy fresh fruit and veg, making a real difference in their lives.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Sara, her son, and her husband for their extraordinary effort and generosity and for showing us that every step, no matter how challenging, can make a positive impact.
